An SBEM (Simplified Building Energy Model) is the quickest method for demonstrating ADL2A compliance and producing Energy Performance Certificates (EPC’s). However there is an alternative method with a more sophisticated DSM modelling route, which can offer significant reduced project costs when compared to the SBEM method.
At Gladwood we use ‘IES Virtual Environment’ software to carry out SBEM assessments, which means that should you desire, upgrading to a DSM assessment or a thermal modelling analysis is possible at a cost effective rate.

Project visuals and animations are also possible using the SBEM model.
Furthermore, geometrical data from Sketchup and Revit software can also be utilised, avoiding the need and cost of regenerating this information. Using this method, working along side Architects, we can rapidly investigate the viability of various design proposals.
